Does your dad love the finer things in life? Does he savour a strong cup of coffee in the mornings and a snifter of whisky in the evenings? Then you have to make this espresso martini recipe for him on Father’s Day because it combines both coffee and whiskey in one very special drink.

1 single shot (30ml) espresso coffee
30ml good quality bourbon whisky
15ml Patron XO café tequila
1 teaspoon unrefined rapadura sugar
Coffee beans, to serve
1 Place ice cubes in 1 x 2/3-cup-capacity martini glass to chill.
2 Meanwhile, place espresso, whisky, tequila and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Fill with extra ice. Secure lid. Shake vigorously until well combined.
3 Remove and discard ice from martini glass. Using a cocktail strainer, strain mixture through a fine sieve into chilled glass. Top with coffee beans. Serve.
